Storage precautions Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Storage temperature must not exceed 29℃. Keep the container sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidants and should not be mixed. Use explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities. Mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to sparks should not be used. The storage area should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and appropriate containment materials.
[Stability]:
Pentane is an aliphatic saturated hydrocarbon with stable chemical properties. It does not react with acids or alkalis at room temperature and pressure. It undergoes pyrolysis at temperatures above 600°C or in the presence of a suitable catalyst to produce a mixture of propylene, butylene, isobutylene, butane and isopropane. Using aluminum trichloride as a catalyst, 2-methylbutane is produced by isomerization.
