Products Description

N-Butane (R600), CAS No. 106-97-8, is a colorless gas with a slightly unpleasant odor. It is soluble in water under pressure at room temperature, and is soluble in alcohol and chloroform. n-Butane is flammable and explosive, and is often used as a solvent, refrigerant, and raw material for organic synthesis. It exists in oilfield gas, wet natural gas, and cracking gas, and is obtained by separation.

Physical properties of n-Butane (R600):

Molecular formula: C4H10

Appearance: colorless and transparent liquid

Purity: ≥99.5%

Sulfur content: ≤1ppm

Water: ≤10ppm

Acidity: ≤1ppm (in terms of HCL)

Vapor residue: ≤0.01%

Production process of n-Butane (R600):

N-Butane exists in petroleum and natural gas in the form of straight-chain n-butane and branched isobutane. Both are colorless and flammable gases at room temperature and pressure. The relative density of n-butane is 0.6012 (0°C), 0.5788, the melting point is -138.4°C, the boiling point is -0.5°C, the critical temperature is 152.01°C, the critical pressure is 3.797MPa, the flash point is -60°C, the refractive index is 1.3259 (liquid, saturated pressure), 1.0013 (gas, normal pressure). It is soluble in ethanol, ether and chloroform, and slightly soluble in water. It forms an explosive mixture with air, and the explosion limit is 1.6% to 8.5% (volume fraction).
