Products Description

N-heptane is a particularly interesting substance that is used in various fields. For example, it is an indispensable component of gasoline fuel, used in industry, and also as a solvent for drugs and cosmetics.

A non-polar substance, it is volatile and burns easily in air. In addition, its molecule is characterized by a ring structure and multiple conformations. Due to these characteristics, n-heptane is widely used in various fields of science and industry.

n-heptane is often used as a calibration gas in analysis and is also used as a main component of gasoline for motor vehicles. It is also a good solvent for oils and fats and is widely used in the manufacture of cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

The use of n-heptane in industry has its own characteristics and requires precautions. In addition, it is not recommended for people who are allergic to chemicals.

Nevertheless, n-heptane remains a valuable and sought-after substance in various industries. Due to its unique properties, it is becoming increasingly popular and is used in a wide range of fields.

Pharmaceutical Grade N-heptane Product Description:

N-heptane 99 (CAS No. 142-82-5), commonly known as heptane, is the purest form of n-heptane (99% content). Heptane (C7H16) is a non-polar, straight-chain hydrocarbon liquid with a gasoline-like odor. Pure n-heptane has a flash point of 25°F, a boiling point of 208°F, a vapor pressure of 1.60psi at 100°F, and a molecular weight of 100.23g/mol. n-heptane 99% is commonly used as an organic solvent, used as a cleaning agent and laboratory agent in the industrial and pharmaceutical industries. n-heptane is incompatible with oxidants. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible materials.

Product Applications:

Used in paints and coatings, as a glue solvent and in gas chromatography, high-performance liquid chromatography, spectrophotometry, and environmental testing. Used as the primary reference standard for determining the knock level of carburetor fuels and solvents, especially for vegetable oils, low-temperature thermometers, calibration, and polymerization reaction media. n-heptane is hydroisomerized to form di- and tri-branched products, which can be used to produce high-octane gasoline. Water/AOT/n-heptane microemulsion plays a vital role in the synthesis, size control and passivation of CdS nanoparticles.

N-Hexane is a colorless, odorless organic solvent and an amorphous liquid at room temperature. It is an aromatic alkane containing 6 carbon atoms, with n-heptane as the main component, the structural formula C6H14, melting point -95.3℃, boiling point 69.2℃, refractive index 1.3725, density 0.661g/ml, emulsification temperature 8℃, and vapor density 4.4 (30℃).

n-Heptane has high physical properties and low boiling point. It can evaporate quickly and is very soluble in organic solvents. It rarely dissolves in water, but is easily absorbed by substances such as grease, oil, wax, fat and protein. Therefore, it can be used as a washing method in the food processing industry to remove oil stains, dirt, etc. At the same time, due to its high shrinkage rate, it can be used for gas collection and extraction of liquid hydrocarbons. Industrial manufacturers can also use it as a cleaning agent for welding operations.

n-heptane is used as a hollow shrink ring for ethylene fermentation in industry, such as the application of synthetic rubber to increase the speed of the vulcanization process. It can also be used in the production of solid lubricants, gasoline blending agents, polyester additives, liquid lubricants, plastic additives, fragrances and other products.

High-purity n-heptane refers to n-heptane with a crystal purity of more than 99%. It is mainly used as pharmaceutical grade n-heptane and is a synthetic solvent used in pharmaceutical agents and solvent systems. It can be used in fields such as pharmaceutical raw materials and medical research work because its stability, non-corrosiveness and low toxicity are safe for cells and the human body.
