1-hexene 99% is a colorless liquid, insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol. It is flammable, toxic and irritating. It reacts with 60% sulfuric acid to generate 2-hexanol and hexylsulfonic acid, and reacts with potassium permanganate to generate formic acid and valeric acid.
With the increasing market demand for film and tube materials, the use of 1-hexene 99% is increasing. 1-Hexene is an important comonomer for linear polyethylene (low-density and high-density) resins, and is also an important raw material for the manufacture of fine chemical products such as advanced plasticizers and synthetic lubricants.
The market demand for 1-hexene 99% is growing rapidly and has high economic value. At present, most linear polyethylene uses 1-butene as a comonomer, and the performance of its copolymerized linear polyethylene is difficult to compare with the performance of linear polyethylene copolymerized with 1-hexene. Therefore, it is imperative to use 1-hexene instead of 1-butene as a comonomer.
