High purity Sulfur tetrafluoride, SF4, fluorinating agent. Make one OH into one F, >CO into >CF2, one CO2H into CF3, polyfluorinate into polyfluoroether, and react with carbon tetrachloride to generate fluorotrichloromethane.
Name: High purity Sulfur tetrafluoride
Chemical formula: SF4
Molecular weight: 108.059
CAS: 7783-60-0
EINECS: 232-013-4
Appearance: Colorless gas, stable when heated up to 600°C.
Solubility: SF4 is easily soluble in benzene, but it is strongly hydrolyzed when it meets water.
Package:Sulfur Tetrafluoride sf4 40L cylinder
properties and stability
1. Concentrated sulfuric acid can decompose SF4. SF4 is corrosive to glass but stable to both quartz and mercury.
2. It decomposes violently with water and is highly toxic. Its toxicity is about twice that of phosgene.
