Uses and synthesis methods of n-Nonadecane
Chemical properties
N-Nonadecane is a white crystalline solid, insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, and easily soluble in ether.
Preparation
Put bromoalkane mixture and metallic sodium into the reactor, stir and heat to 80℃, and maintain at 120~140℃. After adding the remaining materials, control the temperature at 140~160℃ and keep the temperature constant for 2 hours; add ethanol and water in turn, separate the organic matter and wash it with water until it is neutral, then dry it with anhydrous magnesium sulfate, distill and collect the fractions, and collect the finished product n-nonadecane through a water distillation column according to the boiling point.
Uses
Used in organic synthesis and as a chromatographic analysis standard.
1. Keep away from oxides.
2. Exists in flue-cured tobacco leaves and smoke.
Store in a sealed container in a cool and dry place. The storage place must be away from oxidants.
